This helpful traveling tool covers the entire US, Canada and Mexico.

Customer Buzz
The Garmin travel guide is very limited for the money. Don't waste your money.

Customer Buzz
This guide has a lot of useful information but only if you are going to one of the large cities listed in the guide. However it is very confusing and un-intuitive to access. There is a "Travel Guide" icon on the touch screen which Garmin tech support tells me that it is nonfunctional because the Garmin Travel Guide is not completely compatible with my Garmin Nuvi even though it is listed as an accessory for my particular Nuvi. No matter which city I enter in the search bar in the "Travel Guide" it takes me to someplace in Maine. Yes, I called Garmin Tech Support on two seperate occassions because I was certain the card was corrupted and not working correctly. Their only response was to walk me through a number of confusing steps to access the information that I want. Of course these steps are forgotten by the next time I want to use it and it takes me 10 or 15 minutes to figure out again which is very frustrating. My recommendation is to save your hard earned $50 bucks, go to AAA and get a free(if you are members) tour book. It will have a lot more information for a lot more destinations, even smaller towns.

Customer Buzz
GARMIN 010-10672-02 Nuvi Europe Travel GuideI searched Amazon for a MAP upgrade to have while walking and/or driving around Paris, and this was "suggested".
GUESS WHAT? NO MAPS! Supposedly just a list of touristy places to go to and stay! You can get that free on the internet with your browser, and would never use it while driving anyway. What jerk designed this? Meanwhile I was stranded in Paris with no navigation maps and no place to exchange the product for what I really needed.

Customer Buzz
It was the worst thing I could ever do. Trusting you vacations on something like this may bring you lots of headaches and pains. I traveled to Spain and Germany and the first thing I noticed upon my arrival was that the SD card was not being read nor working on my Nüvi 260. I took my GPS device for a check and they said it was the card that was not working properly. I had no other choice than to buy a new GPS device for Europe so I could drive for the rest of my trip. I will return the SD Card back to the shipper and ask for my money back asap.

Customer Buzz
DO NOT BUY Does not work. I went to Europe and tried this GPS navigation card, and it recognized that I was in Europe and it had plenty of points of interest to choose from but it showed no roads and had no idea on how to get me where I wanted to go. Very unhappy. And I checked the return policy and it states that it is only returnable within 24 hours, which was hard to do because I was in Europe. NO NOT BUY

Customer Buzz
Try getting your money back after it fails. A dark screen after loading the SD card. Called Garmin, placed on hold for 20 minutes, was told that it doesn't work unless the unit picks up the satellites in Europe. So, who do you call with a dark screen in downtown Strausbourg and won't be home until the return date has lapsed? AMAZINGLY, I was also told that the software has no maps (that cost another $300). This Travel Guide is nothing more than a glorified electronic tour book that you can pick up for $20 in hardcopy and with real maps! They call this dumming up.

Customer Buzz
Garmin and Fodors should be ashamed of this product. The coverage is absurd. In Washington D.C. I looked for a restaurant near my current location. Nada, but I was surrounded by a wide variety of places to eat, some of them very highly rated by local media. This guide wanted me to go most of the way across town, an expensive cab ride, to a neighborhood that I was advised wasn't very safe. You're better off to Google the city before you visit and take along a few pages of printouts. Do not waste your money on this piece of garbage.

Customer Buzz
I have used this product for over a year and I am very happy with it. It may not be the best program for vacationers as one might require more details for a pleasure trip. However, for business travel this gives me what I need to know:

* The most popular restaurants and the price range of each

* Hotels situated in the major downtown and business areas

* Bars and other places for nightlife and entertainment

* Major points of interest

* General information about the city in question

Many of the reviews concerning this product complain about the lack of coverage. In smaller cities (and I spend time in them as well) the options for dining and entertainment are not as imposing as they are in, for instance, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, New York, Houston, Seattle, etc. I have used this guide in all of those cities plus many more and I have been very pleased with the information that it provides. I highly recommend it for those who require quick and reliable guidance while traveling for business.

Customer Buzz
I purchased the Fodor's review for my statewide travel around Oregon. I'd hoped to find recommendations for the major cities, including the state capital. However, only Portland is mentioned and the reviews failed to capture the essence of this city.

Installation was easy and use was as one would expect of the NUVI.

Customer Buzz
I live near San Francisco and wanted to use my Garmin when I entertained visitors. It does not have the comprehensive guide you would expect for the price. It lists some museums left off the DeYoung. One of the best museums in the city. Lists some attractions leaves out many others. it seems like only those items of interest that fodors got paid to advertise made the list. There are too many major points of interest for SanFrancisco left off. I can't imagine how bad it is for other areas. I am very disappointed. I wish there was a way to program my own points of interest in to my GPS. I would also like Garmin to add a narrated guide for the 49 mile scenic drive in San Francisco.

This item looks great in the picture and looks like it might work but wait a second!!You need to look at how your gonna position this thing.I bought this item for my Garmin Nuvi 750 and it is just useless. You plug the mount into the lighter but the weight of the GPS alone causes the mount to bounce up and down like a bungee cord. The item looks and feels strong when you receive it but the weight and leverage of the gps makes the item very useless.I almost thought this thing was gonna rip the lighter socket out of my truck because its bounces around so much.If you were to hit one good bump this thing would probably dislodge itself from the 12v socket and smack you in the head which may not be a bad thing because you deserved it for buying this piece of junk in the first place. If you were to maybe fold the adjustable stem up into a ball shape then maybe this thing might work but if you had to do that, then your missing the point in why you bought this mount in the first place! If you want smacked in the head or want your 12v socket ripped out or possibly like trying to read a gps that bounces around like a basketball then this product is for you!! By the way,i just realized, for the short 5 minutes i used this item, the casing around the socket had cracked!!:(

Garmin Suction-Cup Mount Mount your nüvi® portable navigator on the windshield

Product Description

adjustable suction-cup mount for your garmin nüvi GPS navigator

Customer Buzz
This mount seems to be better than the factory original. At first I was concerned that the "neck" of the mount with the knob on the end to which you attach the Garmin was stationary and didn't move up and down like the factory original. However, I have found that not having the up and down movement of the neck decreased the likelihood that it will snap off while trying to mount or dismount the unit.

I had to purchase this mount because the hinges on the neck of factory original mount snapped when my wife was trying to take the unit off the mount. This one I purchased seems to be a better design than the factory original.

Customer Buzz
I received the suction mount with my Garmin Nuvi. In general I really like it. But I have had problems. It seems to loose suction with temperature changes. I also use my Nuvi with rental cars and when I used it in Arizona the rubber partially stuck to the windshield when I removed the suction mount. So now my suction mount looses suction frequently. I was about to purchase a replacement when I noticed the large beanbag friction mount. I'm going to give this a try. The reviewers seemed to love it.Garmin Portable Friction Dashboard Mount for Nüvi Series and StreetPilot I Series, C530, C550 and C580 GPS Navigators

Customer Buzz
Excellent value. Does everything you need. No deluxe bells and whistles, but it always gets me where I'm going.

Customer Buzz
Works great! Only problem I have had is when I arrive at destination, it tells me the destination is on my right and it is on my left and visa-versa. I've been told that most GPS systems do this. Love it. Great value for the price. Bought a black one also for our son.

Customer Buzz
Bought 3 Garmin units. They are easy to use and quite accurate. Much better than the on board nav system in our Lexus.

Customer Buzz
This was ready to use and worked right out of the box. The maps are not as up-to-date as I would have expected, but I think I can update once for free if I do it right away. This is my first GPS and I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Customer Buzz
Very good product! I have used four different GPS systems that family members own and this is the most user friendly and direction savvy GPS I have found, I highly recommend it to all my friends.

Customer Buzz
I purchased this model in silver for myself a few months back. I found it to be invaluable and dont know how I lived without it. My daughter expressed an interest in having one so I purchased one for her birthday in the pink color. She loves it, especially the pink color. Very quick delivery with this seller.

Customer Buzz
The Good: Well It's small, cute, and gets you where your going. The brand name means quality and you need it with all these off-brand deals.

The Bad: It doesn't list all the side streets by name and takes a while to find satellites. If you start the car and plug in an address without it completing the "search for satellites", you will lose all you typed in and will end up pulling over to re-input.

Summary: For $100 bucks, you cant beat it!

Customer Buzz
I have purchased dozens of GPS units, some for myself (Garmin nuvi 350 and 750, Street Pilot 2720 and 2820, Colorado 400T, 60 CSx, Rino 130, the Dash Express, etc.) and many for others, mostly as gifts. This unit was a gift for a someone who gets lost often and needed something basic in order to get around. I purchased the Garmin nuvi 250 in pink at a very good price from Amazon and I am very happy with that decision.

The Garmin nuvi 250 is a basic GPS, still it has some features that make it a great travel GPS. One thing that I like is that it is smaller than my 750 (and all of the other 4.3" nuvi models) and it does not need the built-in flip up antenna that some models have (such as the 300 and the 600 series) so it fits neatly into a pocket.

The main thing that I find missing is the TTS (Text-to-Speech) feature which pronounces the names of the streets. Instead of saying "Turn right on Broadway Street" like units with TTS, the 250 will say "Turn right at the next intersection". TTS is a good feature to have, yet if you look at the written commands on the top of the display they list the street by name even though it will not announce it.

Still, one of the biggest and seldom mentioned benefits of a small, compact GPS receiver is the ability to take it out of the car and navigate as a pedestrian while walking in unfamiliar areas. I have used mine to find restaurants, stores, museums and other places of interest in cities like San Francisco, San Diego, Manhattan, Chicago, etc. If you have even gotten lost on a self-directed walking tour then you can appreciate the freedom that this little guy will give you, knowing that no matter how far you roam you will always be able to find the most direct route back to your car or hotel.

No GPS is perfect. Maps go out of date fairly quickly and updates from Garmin are few and far between (and cost quite a bit). Restaurants go out of business often and I have been standing in front of empty buildings that my GPS directed me to more than once. Still, having a device like this is way better than not having one. If you are looking for a basic GPS receiver then look no further. Garmin is a great brand and I highly recommend this one.

Customer Buzz
This is a great little GPS unit for $129, however I'm extremely frustrated with Amazon and how it communicates the latest mapping software on each device. How many sites do I have a research to figure out that in 2008, this NUVI 250 has 2006 mapping software? I checked around, and the upgrade is $54 right now, so still cheaper than buying the newest version which is over $200.

My first GPS was a Garmin I5, also for people on a budget The NUVI 250 (200 series) is a great improvement....larger screen and touch screen capabilities is a bonus over the old scroll wheel!

Customer Buzz
Just tried my Nuvi250 to Texas State Fair in Dallas. This device did what it meant to be. Bring us to Dallas sound and safe.
There is only one concern about it: do the turning when it ask you to do so. There is several times we make our turn earlier just after we heard "in 0.2mile, turn left". But in fact, you will make the correct turn when it really tell you turn left.
Besides that, it also did warn us for which side of lane we had to keep when comes to separate lane. POI are great, we can search all the thing we need all the way.
This unit come with a 2008 map, but you can update your map to 2009 map free online by the time you register it with Garmin.
If I need to complain, it is when it almost reach the destination, I had to shut it down or else it will always try to reroute and reconstruct us to go to the exact point. Although the map is the latest, but due to the reconstruction of I-10 in Houston, this machine mistakenly thought we are off the highway. This is not exactly a con, just that the road changes too fast.
By the end, I never regret to buy this thing. Only thing I dislike is, Garmin never include a wall plug adaptor and a USB connector in the package. It took more more money to buy those utilities. One approach I am doing is to buy a Ac wall plug to car 12V DC cigar socket adaptor. That device cost me 4USD while the AC wall plug adaptor will cost 14USD. So choose the cheaper way.

The product worked fine until the lighter part of the product came apart and started smoking and melted in my cigarette lighter. Not sure what happened

Customer Buzz
I bought this product one month ago. When I plugged it into my lighter socket and connected the dongle to the GPS, the fuse blew. I bought more fuses and they all blew very quickly. I was shipped a new one because they said this should not be happening but the new one did the same thing. I would not recommend this product. I recently purchased the vent mount. I hope it works better.
