What else is there to say? The adapter works, I haven't used the mount yet.
I called Garmin for this replacement and they wanted $49.99, the rep at Garmin looked it up on Amazon and found it for much less suggesting I buy it there. It's just what we needed.
I have had the original suction cup for Nuvi 660 GPS since Oct 2008. The last few trips I would get it to stick on the windshield of my Honda CRV but as I started driving it would fall off. I had a garmin a few years back that would do the same thing. You would think that they would improve the suction as the they improve the technology. I guess not. I am looking for other options for mounting my GPS in my car. I otherwise love my Garmin Nuvi.
I bought 2 of these. I have used them for several months now. They work great. Good product. Once in a while the suction cup comes loose, but not bad. I run over the road and do cross bad roads frequently.
Recently, I had my car broken into and the thieves took my charging cord and cradle but left my Garmin. This was a very inexpensive way to be able to charge and use my Garmin.
I wanted an adapter for my second vehicle. It worked as well as the original.
This has proven to be an excellent option. It is convienent and works perfectly. As I am using it in a small roadster, I do wish it had a coiled cord.
I really like my new Garmin Nuvi 660...I just wish I'd been smart enough to read the details and understood that it came WITH the carrying case, dashboard mount, and suction cup mount! I foolishly ordered those along with it, not realizing they were included with the unit...shipping is so expensive that I didn't return them...just kept them in case I need a new one in the future. I'm very pleased with the user-friendliness of the product and the size of the screen. Some of the street pronounciations are downright laughable, but I always know what she's referring to ;-).
I'd recommend this unit to all.
I just love my Garmin nuvi 660. I don't love this mount. I have attached the suction cup to windshields and to the bundled plastic disc, but I haven't found a way to secure the mount reliably. Changes in temperature tend to cause the suction cup to loosen, causing the Garmin to tumble. Once in a parking lot it managed to fall on the emergency blinker button, leaving my car blinking for hours. Once while I was driving it fell to the floor around the accelerator pedal. Not good. My suction cup, in short, doesn't suck...
The reason I purchased a replacement was because the original ball-and-socket joint failed. It might have become damaged during one of its tumbles.
Exactly what I wanted. This is just like the one that comes with you Nuvi 660. Perfect for the second car.
