The Nuvi 205 is a great improvement over the Nuvi 200. It has a faster processor and more capability. With the 200, speed does not show when navigating, but it does show on the 205, and the speed limit shows for regular highways. Also favorite places are grouped into folders like food so you don't have to search through all the favorites. You can even create a folder such as friends or parks. It works as good as the 255, except the street name is not spoken. You have to glance at the top of the screen to see the street name, but the 205 is cheaper. Satellite lock-on is quick, and the battery lasts well when not plugged in.


This product is great for the price. Does need some updating but can get you where you are going. One thing you need to watch though is if you look for lets say Walmart it does sometimes pick up a Sam's club instead doesn't really help when that is not what you are looking for.


It pretty much did all what was needed of it. I am just writing this review to say that the smaller size screen were more useful than the widescreen ones. You don't really need a wide screen in a GPS, if there were even smaller ones I would have got them. This way you can easily put it in the car, in pocket, on the windshield and it would not block the view. There is no point in paying the extra 50 dollars for a wide screen one.


I really like this GPS. I am a Realtor and I use it all the time and it has yet to let me down. I would recommend this product to anyone that is looking for a great priced GPS.


The Nuvi can only use the Garmin power adapter. The power port is shaped like a standard USB power adapter, but only the Garmin adapter will work. THIS IS A PAIN. When I travel I have to bring the Garmin adapter. The wire is stiff and bulky. The adapter that I carry for by blackberry won't work even though the plug is the same. The same adapter works for my wife's cell phone, but not for the Garmin. Same adapter also works for my iPod (with a special wire), but not for the Garmin.

Please, Garmin, get with the program and fix this. It will make the 205 much better for people who want to travel light (i.e. everybody).

Note to Garmin: No doubt you set-up the power plug this way for a reason, but not a great reason. When you try so use a different power adapter the GPS thinks that it is getting connected to a computer: the GPS goes in to "mass storage mode". Surely there's a software fix. When it goes in to mass storage mode just put a button on the screen that lets the user say "no thanks" to mass storage mode and just connect to the power supply.

That would fix the only thing that I hate about this Garmin unit.

The product is exactly what my husband wanted. The product was not supposed to come until after Christmas but arrived on 12-24-08.


Garmin nuvi 250 is a good unit for the price. It does everything I want it to.


I got this right after Christmas for a trip I was taking, it worked perfectly and was easy to learn. I loaned it to my parents and they loved it so much they went and bought their own!


This GPS system is everything we need. Bought it after extensive review of reviews. Great for the person who likes simple efficiency or first-time GPS owners. Only worry is my husband watches it more than the road! Also love that you can replace the car icon with giant marching footsteps. Can't wait for upcoming versions to tell us WHY we want to go where we want to go...


This product is awesome. I bought this GPS for several reasons. The frist is because Garmin is a name you can trust. I use Garmins at school for Geocashing and their products are easy to use and can stand the handling of middle schools.
The second reason is the points of interest. The nuvi 205 can in the box ready to go. The maps are current, the GPS is easy to use, and the picture is great. My husband and I were impressed with the ease of using this technology on the road.
I can't say anything bad about this product. I love it!!
