Took a trip to LA to catch a cruise ship. Would have never attempted without the Garmin worked perfectly. The "where am I" screen will save the place your currently at so when you want to go back its directions to get there are already saved.
I love the ease of locating an upcoming business. I love the pedestrian feature. Very easy to use and the battery stays charged for a long time.
The nuvi 270 is great little GPS navigator for the price. The device is accurate in use around Central Florida. We especially like the multilingual feature and routinely use the Spanish language screen and voice prompts. The nuvi constantly recalculates ETA when used in destination mode, which is a great feature especially when traffic conditions change. Finding addresses and points of interest are also a breeze. Definitely a good buy.
I bought Nuvi for vacation trip in Spain. Maybe, map was too old. GPS directions were confusing in 30%. Sometimes GPS advised to exit highway just 80 km before destination point or just was showing car off road between mountains. Once we made a complete loop following directions and had to start over. The most curios case was on the one lane old bridge when GPS pushed on us to make u-turn immediately but was agree to drive straight ahead another 30km just one minute later ...
Finally, my Nuvi 270 died in 40 days.
Great device. We have been wanting a GPS system to take with us on our travels to Europe and this was the little gadget that did it all. Not only does it meet our US needs but when we travel abroad.
I traveled extensively as a sales representative throughout Europe and bought the 270 because of it's preinstalled US and European maps.
After receiving my Nuvi from Amazon, I opened the box and found the unit to be roughly the size of a deck of cards. It easily fits in my shirt pocket making it ideal for traveling.
The unit works off battery power or by cigarette lighter adapter. Battery power once fully charged lasted me 4 hours.
In a recent trip to the UK, the unit performed quite well, and excelled at directing me which exit off the "round-a-bout" I needed to take. I had take the time to print maps for all of my sales calls, but never picked one up because the Nuvi literally delivered me to the front door of every customer.
As I mentioned in the subject line of my review, this was my 2nd Nuvi 270 purchased, as I loaned my other to a colleague who loved it so much he bought it from me. I'm thrilled to see that Amazon had a better price on the Nuvi that I previously paid, so I had to get another.
In a nutshell, the Nuvi 270 is well built portable GPS without all of the bells and whistles. It does feature a flash card slot for viewing photos and also includes a conversion program for money etc.
After buying two, I recommend the unit to anyone.
This garmin gets me from point a to point b. The only problem I have is the directions. It doesn't say "Turn left on Oak Street", it says "Turn left now". I would like to hear the street names, it gets kind of confusing sometimes and I end up having to turn around if I miss it. That's about it.
This was a birthday gift for my husband. Gleaned through many systems before deciding on this one.
I was looking for a portable model, and good design. This model comes with pre-loaded European Maps, and for me it offered more value compared to the other models. Also purchased the travel kit; comes with global extension plugs.
We have been very happy using this model; the voice command is wonderful, and so far it has tackled all our "challenge" tests with no error.
The Garmin Nuvi 270 GPS is truly a good product and Amazon is a truly good seller and I highly recommend them them over EBAY any day.
