pros:
- cute (way more than pic shows)
- super portable
- great battery life
- easy to use
- library of shops and gas stations is extensive and pretty accurate
cons:
- doesn't call out street names (i knew this going in, but didn't realize how convenient it is)
- can take over 1 min to connect to a satellite
- wish it'd show "time to get to destination" instead of just "destination time"
overall have no regrets about purchase

Been wondering from does Amazon gets the list price of Nuvi 250 at $ 472.00 ? Any suggestions ? What is this game ?

Even densily surrounded by very high buildings sattelites signal were good enough to maintain navigation. I mention this because with other manufacturers I experienced loss of signal many times and with Garmin it did not occur.
The only improvement i'd mention is that the user could have an easier way to add POIs to the device's database.

I am thoroughly satisfied with the Garmin nuvi GPS. It is exactly what I was looking for -- simple to use and at a good price.

a lot of people told me Garmin is good GPS so I decide buying it "Garmin 250" but it is not exact direction to show me the location where I want to go. I don't know what happen because sometimes it shows "satellite missing" and doesn't move in the screen. Maybe other models are better.

The latest Nuvi 250 gets a refreshed hardware platform that is similar to the nuvi 205 but the 250 has the added advantage of having Alaska and Canada map coverage. Everything about the interface and usage is exactly the same the 205 except the 250 doesn't get the new eco-route feature that is only available for 2x5 or 7x5 units. Other that that I can't tell the difference between the two. Same familiar & excellent navigation features, loud and clear voice. If you don't need the frills like MP3 player, bluetooth and FM transmitter, then this budget model is the one for you!

It doesn't have a lot of bell's and whistles but it does the job it is interned for and does it well.
I am very pleased with my purchase.

I love my Garmin GPS it was very easy to use. I will tell a friend about it. Two thumb up.

You can't register it w/o downloading a browser plugin. Said plugin won't install. FAQ says you need new drivers. New drivers don't install. Tech support looks for a familiar word in your complaint and emails a cut and paste response based on that one word.
Oh, and the battery is only good for a few minutes.

We have a TomTom One and a Nuvi 250. The TomTom is much better! When the Garmin needs to be recharged, it becomes useless. There is a glitch that keeps us from using the Nuvi 250 while it is recharging, whether it is plugged into the wall, the PC, or the car. So, we can use it only when fully charged, and then have to stop using it when it needs to be recharged. Visits to the Garmin website have not resolved the problem. Also, the TomTom allows more customization, such as a choice between an alphabetical or qwerty keyboard. Who uses an alphabetical keyboard? The ability to change a route when there is a need for a detour is another shortcoming of the Garmin. Finally, the cost of upgrades negates what looked like a good price at the outset.
